Overview

FrogBox Go now enables users to perform two advanced troubleshooting actions directly from the Manage Stream screen: Refresh Video Stream and Reboot Streaming System.

These tools are designed to help restore stream stability in real time - without needing to physically restart your encoder or contact support.

Note: These features are only available within 1 hour of the scheduled start time or after the stream has already been scheduled to start. If you've just turned on your encoder, please wait 5 minutes before attempting either feature.

Important Notes

  • Neither action interrupts scoring or match data.

  • Do not attempt to repeatedly press these buttons or system overload can occur.

  • Always wait for the confirmation message before performing another action.

When to Use Each Option:

Refresh Video Stream

Use this option to restart the video stream. This is useful when a stream vision appears to be the issue, but the encoder is otherwise online and stable.

Recommended when:

  • You see a “Broadcast Vision Unavailable” message, but your troubleshooting metrics show the encoder is online.

  • When your stream should have started, but Pushing is showing as red.

  • The video on the public stream looks choppy or pixelated, but metrics indicate good signal strength.

What it does:

  • Forces the encoder to stop and re-initiate the video feed.

  • Leaves the audio, overlays, and match session intact.

  • Typically takes 30–60 seconds to complete.

1. Navigate to Manage Stream and find the Refresh Video Stream button under your preview and diagnostics.

N.B. Cannot help if signal strength is weak or impaired.

2. Select Yes, refresh stream

3. Note the Device restarted successfully notification

Reboot Streaming System

Use this option to perform a full restart of FrogBox's broadcasting software within your FrogBox Go setup.
It’s more comprehensive than a “Refresh Video Stream” and should be used if vision and audio are out of sync or not reaching the destination correctly.

Use only when your preview looks fine, but the stream is misbehaving on YouTube.

Recommended when:

  • Audio is coming through on the Preview Stream in the Controller, but not on YouTube or PlayHQ.

  • You notice artifacting (rainbow trails, heavy pixelation) on your YouTube stream, even though vision looks normal in your preview.

What it does:

  • Restarts FrogBox's broadcasting software

  • Automatically resumes streaming after the restart (no need to re-start the match).

  • Can take approximately 2–3 minutes to complete.

1. An example of artifacting - not the rainbow trails.

2. Navigate to Manage Stream and find the Reboot Video System button under your preview and diagnostics.

3. Select Yes, reboot

4. Note the Device restarted successfully notification

5. The streaming system can only be rebooted once every two minutes. If you attempt another reboot before the timer resets, a message will appear showing how much time remains before you can try again.
